Who Can Vote?
The deadline to register to vote in this election is July 20, 2026
Florida is a closed primary state. That means you may only vote in a partisan contest in a Primary election is you are registered member of that political party. Political Party affiliation changes must be submitted 29 days prior to the Primary Election. If you’re not sure what party affiliation you are registered with, you can:
- Look up your voter information and see what party affiliation you are registered with
- Check the party affiliation listed on your Voter Information Card

Three Ways to Vote
Vote by Mail
Voted ballots must be in the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections Office by 7 PM on Tuesday, August 18, 2026. You must request a Vote By Mail ballot to receive one. Visit this page for more information about Vote By Mail.
Election Day
August 18 | 7 AM to 7 PM
To vote in person on Election Day, you must vote in the polling place assigned to your precinct.

Canvassing Board Schedule
- August 4, 2026 – 9am Canvassing board meeting: – Logic and Accuracy test of the tabulating equipment, reporting software, and automated independent audit system to be used during the 2026 Primary Election. Immediately following, canvass of Vote By Mail Ballots
- August 14, 2026 – 9am Canvassing board meeting: Canvassing of Vote by Mail Ballots
- August 18, 2026 – Election Day: Canvassing board will convene at 4:00pm
- August 20, 2026 – 4pm Canvassing board meeting: Canvass of Provisional Ballots / Canvass Vote By Mail Ballots / Certification of Election Results; immediately following, Post-Election Certification Automated Independent Audit
Dates & Deadlines
- July 20, 2026 – Last day to register to vote and change party affiliation
- August 6, 2026 – Last day to request a Vote-by-Mail ballot
- August 18, 2026 – Election Day: Polls open 7am to 7pm
- August 20, 2026 – 5pm Deadline to for Provisional Documentation or VBM Cure affidavit
